Why Video is Important for Your Fundraising Campaign?

It’s that time of year to start fundraising again; you want to make a big impact to your audience by mediums other than Playfish Media, videos, fundraising, events, video productionemailing, blogging, social posts, and you know a video message would be a great way to tell your story, but you have no idea where to start.  You know the goal of your video is to help drive funding for your company, so you need to make it impactful. How do you make it impactful and capture your desired audience? For the audience you’re targeting, video is a great way to make your audience feel like it’s in real time. There is an emotional connection you feel when watching a video that makes it feel like you’re in the same room as the person speaking. This connection helps in the long run to increase word of mouth about your company, thus gaining more attention and supporters.

How Long Should Your Video Be?

Great news – your video doesn’t need to be the length of a movie! It’s best to make your video short and to the point. The most important thing is to know who your audience is, so you can make your video succinct to capture their interest and entice them and help them understand why they should help your company. Which is why there needs to be a call to action at the end of the video, and a way for your audience to share the company’s message. Remember: word of mouth is one of the best ways to get information out to potential funders. You want to make it easy for people to share your message, because if they have to put effort into doing so, the likelihood of your message being shared is very slim. Some ways to do this is to put the embed code below the video, make social sharing prominent so it’s just a click of a button for someone to share, and make sure it’s easily found on your website and blog.

Now What Do I Do to Create a Fundraising Video?

Are you wondering how you choose which video platform you should use? What equipment you need? Should you do it in house or contact a vendor? These are all great questions and Playfish Media is here to help answer all these questions and more! Please contact us to learn how to make your next fundraising video impactful!

Why We Love Corporate Videos (And You Should, Too!)

Playfish Media, Video, Production, Flim, Editing, CastingWhen creating a corporate marketing strategy, you can’t just rely solely on blogging to get your messaging out – you have to go above and beyond when it comes to creating unique and engaging content. What does this mean for your company? This means that you have to get your message out in different content forms, and through different channels.

Below are some essential reasons why you need to integrate corporate video production into your marketing strategy and campaigns.

People Consume Content in All Different Formats

Your goal as a company is educating your customers and potential customers on your products, services, etc., and you need to learn and leverage the different types of ways people consume content. Because there are so many mediums to display your message on, you need to deliver the right content, to the right channels, to educate the right audience. You may be educating people on why they need to use your company, what products your company sells, or showing a tutorial on how to use your company’s products; it doesn’t matter what you sell, your goal for content creation will be educating the right target audience.

Leverage More Than Just Blog Content on Your Website

Think about blog content as only catering to one type of learner: those that are read-only. By producing corporate video content, you now can attract an audience who learn and/or like to view content visually. If, for example, your company has products that customers need to learn how to use or build, creating “how-to” videos would be a great way to engage learners who need visual step-by-step instructions. Also, by adding corporate video production into your content strategy, you’ll draw in consumers who love video content. By creating corporate videos, you can get the best of both worlds content wise, because underneath the video you can have the text that goes with the video.

    It’s easy to share videos!

Sites such as Vimeo and YouTube have made it super easy to share by either linking to the video, or using the embed code. If you create compelling and fresh content with your videos, people will be more likely to share them via email, their social channels, etc. The more times people comment on, like or share your video, the higher possibility that video will come up in search results!

    Choosing a vendor

When it comes to a corporate video production strategy, you need a vendor who will thoroughly discuss the goal or goals your company wants to achieve. Every project, from ideation to completion is a collaborative experience because at Playfish Media, we want to make sure you’re hitting the goals you need at each step in the production process.

If you are looking to produce a corporate video, or just have questions about what it would look like to produce a corporate video, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at info@playfishmedia.com.

Storytelling Techniques with Video – We Can All Relate to a Story

Storytelling is one of the oldest and most popular ways of passing down information from generation to generation. Not only does this include visual storytelling in the form of pictures, collages and storyboards, but now video is making a huge entrance into the world of storytelling. What’s great about visual storytelling is that it elicits an emotional response easier than pictures do.

Storytelling is a more succinct way to get your information across to the public in the form of a commercial, PSA (public service announcement), or other video mediums. Also, video is a great way to inform your audience about your business without bombarding viewers with needless information, which could cause them tune out.

    Video Interviewing

An easy way to tell a story using video is to interview the storytellers. A fantastic storyteller can capture and captivate the audience is a way that will hold the viewers’ attention. It’s very important there’s a good storyteller to interview, to show the “personality” of the company. Regardless of the project type or your target audience, Playfish Media can help make your story impactful. View some of our customer stories to see how we have helped tell their story.

Did You Know That Pantone’s 2017 Color of the Year Is Inspired by Nature?

Greenery, Pantone 2017 Color of the YearPantone’s 2017 color of the year is called Greenery, and this yellow-green hue (Pantone 15-0343) is inspired by nature and the “go-green” movement which has seen a huge rise in 2016. Many things in our daily lives have shifted to reflect nature through architecture, lifestyle, urban planning and global design preferences. For these reasons, Pantone and Airbnb have partnered together to create an experience in nature that’s inspired by the color of the year.

As described on Pantone.com, “nature’s neutral, PANTONE Greenery is a versatile “trans-seasonal” shade that lends itself to many color combinations. Greenery is paired with neutrals, brights, deeper shades, pastels, metallics and even the enduring presence of PANTONE Color of the Year 2016, Rose Quartz and Serenity. These palettes easily cross over fashion, beauty, product and graphic design applications.” You can view the different pallets here to see which colors you can pair best with Greenery.

As Laurie Pressman, the Panton Color Institute’s vice president told FORBES, “There’s a growing desire to reconnect with Nature and what is real, and find ways to disconnect from technology. We need a break. We need to stop and breathe. (Greenery) is about unity and community—connecting to oneself and others and a higher purpose, Nature.”

Are you inspired by this color from nature? Are you ready to make a nature documentary or short film that features this awesome Pantone 2017 color of the year? There are many conditions to consider when filming in nature, which is why Playfish Media is here to help make your short film or documentary amazing! Contact us to learn more.

Practice Makes Perfect: Educating Fundraisers with Nonprofit Video

Knowledge is something that no one can take away from you.

This is what kids at Practice Makes Perfect believe is the key to locking down a successful future.

Practice Makes Perfect, a nonprofit organization based in Jamaica, New York, is an nonprofit, education program that matches academically struggling elementary and middle school scholars with older, high-achieving peer mentors from the same community.

But this organization is not only for those who struggling. It can also help gifted children advance in their studies.

This five-week summer program provides the students at Richard S. Grossley Junior High School that competitive edge for the upcoming school year while mastering what they learned previously.

    RAISING AWARENESS WITH PLAYFISH MEDIA

Practice Makes Perfect approached Playfish Media in July 2015 to discuss their fundraising strategy. Video was a medium they had not tried before to meet their fundraising goals but were interested in exploring the possibilities. After all, showcasing their program through authentic connections with directors, students and founders allowed donors to see inside the program to where the real difference is being made. After consulting with our team, Practice Makes Perfect agreed that a nonprofit video was the most effective approach to showcase what made their organization special – their unique, hands-on approach to mentoring the youth of tomorrow.

Playfish didn’t hesitate to dive into this project and traveled to the New York for a two-day shoot at Richard S. Grossley Junior High. The two-day shoot involved shots from all over campus as well as interviews with mentors, teachers, founders, and most importantly, the students.

While shooting, we uncovered that “X” factor that set Practice Makes Perfect apart from other nonprofit organizations.

    • The level of dedication and care.
    • Completely different from your run-of-the-mill tutor experience, each student is assigned a “Teaching Coach, a “Teaching Fellow”, Mentors, and Scholars that all work together to support, connect and help each child succeed.
    • It’s more than just being there for their education. These mentors have an emotional, positive impact on students, strengthening community ties while boosting their self-worth.

It’s more than just education and playing games,” said Shoeinsa, a mentor at Practice Makes Perfect. “We are there for them emotionally.

Take a look at the fundraising video below and see the reason why Practice Makes Perfect invested in video to invest in their children’s future.

    Richard Sherman Public Service Announcement

This year we partnered with them to produce a public service announcement about the benefits their products bring to our world. Richard Sherman went to Sumner High School to surprise students there. He spoke to upcoming youth about the dangers of the methane gases produced by landfills, the benefits of recycling our food and the EcoScraps Products.

    Define Your Target Audience

Defining your target audience will help you position and communicate your unique value to your (very specific) Playfish Media, Video Company, Productionaudience. Therefore, you need to ensure you craft a message that is tailored to the concerns of a very well defined audience.

Tell a Story That Makes a Powerful, Emotional Connection

Combining a powerful, emotional connection, along with logic function when creating content, will give you great structure for a successful video campaign. With solid structure, you will know how to capture and keep your target audience’s attention

    Show, Don’t Tell

According to a report from the fact based research company, Aberdeen Group, “brands that use video for marketing are growing their revenue 49% faster than brands that aren’t. Specifically, companies that relied on video in at least one marketing channel saw revenue growth of 13.3% compared to 8.9% for non-video marketers.” According to this study, video is a great marketing tactic to use – if you aren’t already, because video can persuade and inform your audience better than another type of media. Video can also engage all different demographics in your target audience because people can both see and/or hear it, or they can read the copy that accompanies the video. You not only explain your product, service, fundraiser, PSA, etc., but you can show the audience as well!

    Focus on Your Customer

What matters most to your customer is how you can solve their problems. This is why you need to position your company as the most unique and experienced company in the industry to help your target customers. When creating a video, you should make sure it relates to the audience you’re targeting and attracts them to what you have to offer.

Since 2010 they have been working hard to be part of the solution. They sell products from soil, to plant food, to fertilizer. If it helps the plants grow nice and strong, EcoScraps has it.

EcoScraps is a sustainable, organic composting soil that utilizes a portion of America’s 30 million tons of yearly food waste (that’s 40% of the total produced!).  Their mission is to help the planet by growing gardens, not landfills.

    ecoscraps

Since 2010 they have been working hard to be part of the solution. They sell products from soil, to plant food, to fertilizer. If it helps the plants grow nice and strong, EcoScraps has it. Thank you EcoScraps for the work you do to save our environment, and thank you Richard Sherman for your gardening tips. Find out how you too can be a part of the solution at
